Elmau Castle is a renowned 5-star hotel near Garmisch-Partenkirchen located in the foothills of the picturesque Wetterstein Mountains.  Originally built by the philosopher and theologian Johannes Müller between 1914 and 1916, the Castle was renovated in 2005, and its elegant facilities have been used in the past for notable events such as the G7 Summit.

The business challenge was to create a new, up-to-date online presence, to include a modern content management system (CMS). The team at Elmau Castle wanted their new web site to provide an integrated business capability to enable the auditing of website activity (both visitors and users), and marketing campaign and ROI management.

Content support for: Newsletters, panoramic views, interactive webcams, the picture gallery and full-screen slide capability

SOLUTION

The Isarnauten team redesigned the hotel website framework to ensure full optimization and responsiveness, ensuring that content is always attractive and easy to use on smartphones, tablets, notebooks and desktop computers. The modern frameworks and library components that were employed enable the team at Elmau Castle to create content themselves within the new Content Management System (TYPO3). The new website has a large gallery of digital images, so the new framework needed to support special technical capabilities such as image editing, automatic size generation for responsive display, and page-speed optimization.
